About

Who are we?

Pension Bratwurst is an independent daily Swiss net replacement rate index.

The project

Pension Bratwurst was born from a simple observation: nobody in Switzerland really knows what they will receive at retirement. Existing tools are either pension fund calculators (partial view) or technical reports.

Our ambition: to make visible, in real time and for everyone, what the Swiss pension system actually produces, by canton, by income bracket, taking into account the two mandatory pillars, taxation and health costs.

The SRRI (Swiss Replacement Rate Index) is updated daily and reflects current market conditions via the observed LPP return on the Pictet LPP 25 fund.

Knut Giersch

Knut Giersch

Giersch Bancassurance & Prévoyance - Concept

Knut Giersch is among those who believe that pension planning should never be left to improvisation, product distribution or a silo-based logic.

Serial entrepreneur, wealth advisor and pension solution architect, he brings over thirty years of experience at the intersection of pension planning, wealth management and bancassurance in Switzerland.

Holder of a Master in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), former Head of the Pension Group at Pictet & Cie, former member of the board of directors of both Lombard Odier pension foundations and director of wealth management companies in Geneva, he carries the vision of Pension Bratwurst and drives its development.

His approach rests on a strong conviction: the pension fund should not be a cost centre, but a lever for value creation, financial freedom and wealth preservation. This vision is built on a systemic reading where pensions, investments, taxation, real estate, protection and succession are thought through together, with the same demand for coherence and durability.

Doubly approved as an LSFin financial advisor and as an non-tied LSA insurance intermediary, he operates in full independence, with no house product to place and no distribution objective.

His work is grounded in the teachings of behavioural finance applied to wealth planning, to help his clients make more coherent, more lucid and more durable decisions over time.

Clients always retain control of their assets. The role of the advisor is not to confiscate the decision, but to provide the method, the clarity and the framework necessary to build, over time, a resilient retirement and wealth.

Tikall - Modelling & Data Engineering

Entrepreneur and Founder of Tikall, he works with companies and pension or insurance players on investment and advisory, reinsurance and risk structuring topics.

He has deep knowledge of the Swiss occupational pension environment: how pension funds work, LPP logic, biometric risk coverage, death-disability insurance, market constraints and the interplay between employers and foundations. This ground-level understanding forms the basis of Pension Bratwurst, conceived as a clear, independent and analytical space on pension issues in Switzerland.

His approach rests on a technical understanding of risk, experience in brokerage and underwriting, and exposure to Lloyd's markets and innovative models.

Tikall develops an independent and analytical reading of insurance: risk transfer, portfolio analysis, modelling, data science, structuring and data tools applied to financial services.

David Chambovey

David Chambovey

Independent pension adviser

David Chambovey has something of the sports coach about him, and it shows in his professional approach: discipline, rigour and patience.

With a Master's degree in accounting and law, he worked for many years in the institutional divisions of banks, serving their pension fund clients.

After several years' experience, he completed his training as a finance and investment expert (AZEK). To underpin his advice and comply with FINMA requirements, he undertook further training in pension advice for private clients.

Pension provision is not something you prepare for in the last two months of the year, nor in the last ten years before retirement. It is a long and rigorous process. For him, the traditional approach remains timeless.

As an independent adviser, he helps SMEs choose providers for their pension plans and group insurance schemes. He also advises private individuals on when to start, how much to contribute, where to invest and how to go about it.

His aim is to ensure your money works intelligently for you, even whilst you sleep.
